Reggie Smith

My Story

Reggie Smith is a former professional football player, entrepreneur, and business development
executive with a lifelong commitment to leadership, community engagement, and strategic
growth. A standout offensive tackle at the University of Kansas, Reggie played four seasons before
earning his Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources. He went on to play professionally in the
NFL for the Denver Broncos and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as in the USFL for the
Tampa Bay Bandits. After retiring from football, Reggie transitioned into the business world, building and leading a successful litigation support firm for 18 years, which he successfully sold in 2008. Currently, he is a Business Development Executive, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker, leveraging his expertise in strategic partnerships, sales, and leadership development.
Reggie is actively involved in philanthropy and professional advocacy. He served two
consecutive three-year terms on the Former Player National Board of Directors for the
NFL Players Association (NFLPA). He is also a board member of the Brain Injury
Association of Illinois and CIP Chicago, championing initiatives that support brain health,
education, and global leadership. Additionally, Reggie is the past President and current Vice
President of the Chicago Former Players Chapter of the NFLPA and an officer with the
RPFPC Charity, an organization dedicated to empowering youth and providing them with
brighter futures. Reggie resides in Chicago with his wife, Allison. They have three adult children—Michael, Arianna, and Amber—and two grandsons, Leland and Rockwell.
